    Maureen Says:
I am already beginning the process of downsizing. We looked inside a few travel trailers today attempting to pin down the best layout for us in a 23 - 25 foot trailer. As I look at the storage capacity in these trailers my mind was adding to the list of belongings I need to get rid of...there is just not enough room to take all that I'd like to. I know some people store items or give to others to hold onto, but we are definitely permanently downsizing. I will have a couple of yard sales this Spring 2010 and I'm sure that will be my first adjustment to letting go. I have several different sets of dishes, and even though china is not the first choice of those living in an RV, I believe I am going to be keeping and using the set of china I have from my mother. My Mom died when I was quite young and using this china keeps her alive in my heart...therefore it is coming. I will be selling the least elegant sets of dishes. I will also be sorting through my wardrobe, keeping only those items that are necessary to my work in an office. No more holding onto clothes that I say to myself "when I lose 5 lbs. I can fit into that again! I have dvds and cook books...again decisions have to be made and only of few of the ones I like best will be kept. More later.....Maureen

Wayne says: One of the most rewarding experiences of RVing is meeting other people....As a Marine Corps Vietnam vet, meeting other veterans is a blessing. On one of our beach walks I saw an elderly man sitting on a wooden bench, wrapped in a blanket looking as though he was left there. I noticed a red hat with a Marine Corps emblem and I yelled " Semper Fi, Marine! " and that look in his eyes told me I was welcomed....I was brought up to value my elders and this 80+ year old WWII vet was a priceless reminder of those values. This member of the greatest generation was at Iwo Jima. His answers to my questions were honest and heartfelt. Maybe the greatest gift one may give to another is the gift of being heard. What always comes from listening to others is that we all are connected somehow. For a brief time I was witness to an old Marine's life. Coming up from the beach, a young girl walks towards the old Marine and grabs his hand. He proudly introduced her as his youngest granddaughter and we said our goodbyes...This is just one of many experiences that year in Florida where the RVing lifestyle made it possible to share life with others

Take a close look at the picture above Maureen and Goofy...thats Devine...she is amazing and can be found at Animal Kingdom Walt Disney World. We spent 6 months in Florida during 2004...I have never been to a place where there is so much you can do! We would like to read your thoughts on any RV subject and to enter them here on our blog, so please send your comments along to the email addresses above or below
