How To cut plywood
Lets see........you need shelves for the garage and you have plywood. You have a power saw, some hand tools and your neighbor's cordless drill . Here is how to get straight cuts without table saws. First...set up your saw horses as shown in the picture...
Place 2x4's under the plywood for support and to keep the cut piece from falling.
Now you will need a straight edge and some clamps. Look at tha photo on the left. Note the position of the saw.
Set your saw's cutting depth slightly more than the thickness of the plywood. Measure the width of your saw's base plate and add that to the width of the desired cut. Its a good idea to mark the width of the piece you want to cut and then add the saw base width to that mark. The saw blade will align with the first mark and the straight edge will align with the second mark. Clamp your straight edge on the second mark and rip your piece.
